“The introduction of the Sleepy Wings product to the Australian nursery products market is a welcome addition. It is an innovative product that has many applications and will provide support for carers.
Due to the unique design of this product there are currently no specific Australian safety standards that apply to the product.
In order to overcome the lack of standards, Shae Tye, the Sleepy Wings inventor, has successfully applied a strict hazard management approach to the design of the product. This is beyond what is legally required but reinforces the safety commitment and culture within the Sleepy Wings company.
Extensive product testing and research has occurred and as a safety expert in the field of nursery products, I believe that the highest levels of safety have been applied to this product. Shae Tye as a mother of young children, is totally committed to making her products as safe as possible.
There may be contradictory opinions as to the safety efficiency of this type of product but there is a lack of definitive evidence to support or reject the product. It is undisputable however, that every effort has been made by SleepyWings Pty Ltd to design the product with safety of paramount importance.”
